When Ken and Marion Deighton went on a holiday cruise on the Moselle in Germany, they made sure to pack their copy, which they had just picked up from Uppermill Post Office.
But Ken admitted they did not think about sending in a photo until they were reading the paper as they passed the town of Klotten near Cochem.
He said: “My wife Marion packed an unread copy of the August edition with the sole intention of reading it.
“The thought of contributing to ‘Where do you read yours?’ only occurred to us on the day the photo was taken when she was genuinely reading it.”
