SCHOOLBOY Xander Selby is celebrating his call up to the North of England U15 squad for the ECB Bunbury Cricket Festival.
The 15-year-old from Lees will be heading to Millfield School, Somerset, for the tournament that is being staged between August 5-10.
Xander, who has captured 31 wickets this season for Delph’s first team in the Drakes Huddersfield League, will be taking on teams representing London and East, South and West and Midlands.
He is one of five players from Lancashire to have made the North of England squad.
Xander currently plays for Lancashire U15s, where he’s the joint leading wicket taker in the country in the ECB Royal London County Cup with two games to play.
He was also selected for Lancashire’s Emerging Player Programme during the winter.
He captained the Oldham district U15 team to the final of the Lancashire County Cup in September when they play either Manchester or St Helens.
