AN EYE-CATCHING exhibition of creative artwork by students was showcased to impressed parents and guests at Mossley Hollins High School.
Bright landscapes and animals, decorative fashion and mouth-watering foods were captured in the collages, paintings, canvases, sketches and pottery on display.
The items were a collection of hard work by students over the last two years studying towards their GCSE Arts or BTEC Art exams.
And it was admired by parents, teachers and governors as well as the Mayor of Mossley Lesley Bill and Deputy Mayor Greg Brett.

Year 11 student Imogen Ward, 16, explained students had to explore natural form and pattern to make a canvas, as well as choose their own subject for a collage.
“It turned out as my favourite thing,” she said. “I really enjoyed it – but my ideas kept changing and developing all the time!”
Their work culminated in a ten-hour exam based on food, culture or rituals, which they had three months to prepare for, and they will receive their results in August.
Other impressive works on display varied from a cartoon strip of bedtime stories to the Statue of Liberty made out of paper sections each with a part of the Declaration of Independence on.
Mrs Marie Barrowclough, head of art at Mossley Hollins, said: “The amount of things they have to do is unbelievable but they have come up with some fantastic ideas and their work is absolutely amazing.
“We can teach them the skills but we can’t teach them imagination – but they have bucketfuls of that.
“A massive contextual understanding and research goes into it as well
the amount of the hard work they have put in is incredible.
“It’s great to see it all come together so they can show off the work they have done over two years.”
The event was catered by the school’s Year Ten food catering group, who served up a delicious spread of homemade snacks and cakes.
