A FUN-PACKED week of activities is being organised by Mahdlo Youth Zone for young people across Oldham and their families.
From 8-14 June ‘Mad For Mahdlo’ Week will include parties, BBQs, competitions, DJ-ing sessions and a pop-up carnival event to provide plenty of entertainment and activities.
Last year’s festivities saw people from across the town get involved by running, dancing, wearing yellow, baking and dressing up to raise money for the Egerton Street Youth Zone.
Claire Crossfield, Development Manager, said: “Mad for Mahdlo Week is a great opportunity for people to come together to show support for and raise awareness of the great work at Mahdlo.
“We want as many people as possible to get involved and have heaps of fun. Last year was a great success and this year we are aiming to make it even better!”
A number of local schools have signed up to take part, organising their own Mad For Mahdlo activities, and staff from the Youth Zone will be distributing newsletters, holding cake sales with local businesses and selling ducks for the Saddleworth Show duck race on June 28.
Mad For Mahdlo week will culminate at the Oldham Carnival at Alexandra Park on Sunday 14 June where there will be a pop-up Mahdlo arena, with arts and crafts, climbing wall, competitions and fun for all the family.
Anyone who would like to get involved with Mad For Mahdlo week by organising their own activity or going along to any of the events can contact Claire Crossfield on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0161 624 0111.
