A dream come true

By Carl Royle

TWO GREENFIELDERS have found their frog prince – in the shape of their own jewellery business.

INVENTIVE: Colin and Phil show off their jewellery

Phil and Colin Watson Gledhill make eclectic one-of-a-kind pieces which they sell through Tupperware-esque parties where the host receives a free gift and ten per cent of sales.

Items, which can also be made to order, range from wedding bands and earrings to costume jewellery made with gemstones, glass beading and semi-precious stones and crystals.

Colin said: “I have a love of frogs and you’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince.

“We trawl charity shops and the internet to get our raw materials, which we then deconstruct and cannibalise in to pieces to build new jewellery.

“Phil’s pieces are blingy glamour style and my jewellery is more off the wall.”

Colin manufactures items from polymer clay while Phil tends to use jewel-enamel heated plastics moulded in to shape.

And the inventive duo says the question is what they can’t make as imagination is no boundary to their work.

Phil added: “I tend to use American Tribal themes influencing my beading work and also crystals and gemstones for different religions or tastes.”
