IT HAS been all hands on for a ‘no hands’ massage therapist as she celebrates a busy first year in business in Lees.
Rachel Wayte moved her established company In Harmony Therapies to 99a High Street last March to offer holistic wellbeing treatments in a relaxing atmosphere.
Now, 12 months on she held an anniversary celebration, including workshops and demonstrations – and has already set her sights on developing the business.
“It is the first time I have run my own business and I didn’t really know what to expect,” admitted Rachel, who lives in Mossley with husband Gavin and three-year-old daughter Annie.
“There has been a lot of juggling work with my young family but from September Annie will be starting nursery so I’ll be able to do more hours at the shop.
“I’m glad I decided to set up on my own, and now I want to start developing the business more and will have the time to do it.
“I would really love more therapy rooms, and I have plans to hold more workshops and start meditation classes.”
Fully qualified professional Rachel offers a range of treatments, including a holistic deep tissue ‘no hands’ massage using the forearms to help combat pain or stress.
She also offers Natural Facelift Massages and Organic Facial treatments as well as selling a range of quality organic skincare products from Neal’s Yard.
“We’re not a spa and I don’t offer pamper sessions,” added Rachel. “I want to help patients with symptoms such as pain relief, stress or anxiety.
“Treatments are adapted to help patients depending on what they want and they get a say in what happens, making it more personal and effective.”
