TIM SIDWELL has been appointed the new musical director of Dobcross Silver Band.
Tim was former musical director with Crofton Silver Band and has played with Championship band Hepworth for five years.
His first band engagement was the annual trip to the Durham Miners Gala, where they played in support of the Boldon Colliery Community Banner Group.
The band is currently working on a programme of music for their annual Brass on the Grass concert on the village green in Dobcross on September 15.
The future looks bright for the Silver Band, with the positive impact of Tim’s arrival already evident with a new spirit and vigour at rehearsals.
