A POPULAR pub in Uppermill has thanked customers and the community for being part of their ‘incredible journey’ as they celebrate 10 years since their transformation.
Matthew John and Chantelle Tupman-John took over The Waggon Inn in 2013 and closed their doors soon after for an extensive makeover, thanks to major investment from Robinsons brewery.
With a restyled interior and exterior, including new bar, larger kitchen and restyled comfortable lounge and dining area, the pub was an instant hit on re-opening.
Now to celebrate the landmark milestone since the works, the pub on the village High Street has undergone a mini facelift to refresh its interior.

And they thanked the community for their support over the years, especially navigating through the Covid-19 pandemic.
They said: “Can you believe it’s been 10 years since we closed the pub for the makeover of all makeovers!
“It’s been an incredible journey over the past decade, filled with highs, lows, and everything in between.
“From the unforgettable nights with sumptuous food, delicious drinks and laughter to the challenging times where we faced uncertainty, the last four years have been the toughest we have ever faced but we’ve grown, adapted, and made it through.
“We couldn’t have done it without our amazing staff, loyal customers, and the community that has made this place feel like home.
“Here’s to the next chapter, filled with more good times, great company, and even more food and drinks!
“Thank you all for being a part of our story, we look forward to celebrating with you all and here’s to many more years together!”
The Waggon has also launched a new website, where you can view their menus and weekly offers, and new phone number 01457 820943.
