RELAXING AND fun sessions for all the family are helping to create happy memories at a new well-being centre in Delph.

Run by Anouska Fraser, Rivers Retreat provides activities for children aged six weeks to eight years, and has proved an instant hit since opening a few months ago.

Mums and dads have also been getting hands-on, enjoying the play sessions and baby massage groups to bond and relax with their children.

Anouska said: “My overall aim of Rivers Retreat is for it to be a getaway and a place of relaxation where families can recharge their batteries.

There are a lot of strains during the day-to-day dynamics of family life but Rivers Retreat is a place to put these behind us and concentrate on building happy family memories.

“It is extremely important we make time for one another and ensure that time is happy and positive, relaxed and stress free.

“Children thrive from a positive well-being which encourages a strong intellectual self-esteem.”

Classes include baby massages, ‘bug explorer’ classes for children to explore the outdoors, and after-school “Funky Forest” groups for four to eight-year-olds.

There are also music and dance sessions, art and craft groups, messy play, relaxation hours and coffee and cake mornings.

And after a positive response so far, Anouska is already planning developments to the centre, along with an official open day on Saturday, June 22.

A Hobbit Home needs just a few tweaks before it is completed, and there are plans for a decked area outside where families can sit to enjoy a drink and overlook the river.

Rivers Retreat, on Slackcote Lane in Delph, is open daily apart from Mondays. For more information about the open day or class times, visit www.riversretreatsaddleworth.com, email Anouska at amoretherapy@live.co.uk or call 07879 994970. All sessions require booking.
