A SADDLEWORTH fire and security solutions provider is helping keep businesses safe – and has been doing for more than 30 years.
CIA 2000 Ltd was set up by managing director Jim Perry in 1979 and now has more than 2,000 loyal customers and in excess of 10,000 systems over 6,000 sites.
Jim, who lives in Dobcross, started working at Ferranti Gem mill after leaving school, before moving to intruder alarm panels manufacturers A&G Electronics with Ted Taylor.
Later after spending a couple of years with Mather and Platt Alarms, Jim decided to go it alone and formed CIA.
Jim revealed: “This initially stood for Contact Intruder Alarms but was a mouthful so it was shortened to CIA.
“Oldham once boasted more intruder alarm equipment manufacturers than anywhere else in the country.
“We have constantly tried to keep our prices very competitive while giving the best service possible. We have achieved this by constantly updating our IT systems and being lucky to have a dedicated and efficient staff.”
CIA 2000 specialises in the installation, service and maintenance of a range of fire and security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, remote monitoring, access control, fire alarms and extinguishers.
The company, which prides itself on customer care, also provides emergency lighting, nurse and warden call systems, perimeter protection and asset protection.
The company works with SSAIB accredited suppliers to ensure highest standards are met and its clients range from manufacturing facilities to stately homes across the country.
CIA also continually researches new products to make sure it is leading the way and adapting to increasingly complex security requirements and changing technology, including biometric access control systems.
