A KEY country road above Delph was closed for several hours after a devastating two-car pile up.

Four people were rushed to hospital after a stream of police, fire engines, three ambulances and an air ambulance raced to crash scene on the A62.
The accident happened in an isolated moorland area at the Delph Lane-Waterworks Road junction with the main A62 linking Saddleworth to Marsden via Stannage.
Firemen cut through the two damaged cars to release trapped occupants and the road remained closed while police examined the scene and cleared debris.
It is understood the air ambulance was not required but a fleet of ambulances took injured to hospital in Oldham.
A passerby, who did want to be named, observed: “It was a quiet afternoon — then all hell let loose.
“A cavalcade of emergency services raced through Delph and onto the moor.
“No one could establish what had happened because police had put up a road block. But it looked serious.”
