‘WE will, we will rock you’ – that will be the cry as top Queen tribute Mercury lead the line-up when Party in the Park returns to Delph.
The popular family event will be held for a 13th year at Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club on Saturday, September 22 from 3pm-10pm.
BBC GMR presenter Mike Sweeney will be compere for the occasion, which is organised by the Wake Up Delph Team, and there will be a host of talented bands and musicians on stage.
Phil Beckwith, from the organising committee, said: “There will be the magic sounds of Lionel Richie with Malcolm Pitt, and Danny Lowry, who is arguably the number one Robbie Williams Tribute around.
“Up-and-coming local band The Flatline will take to the stage for the first time while there is a second appearance for Neon.
“Ska Britannia will be there all your madness, Selecta, UB40 and SKA favourites while top of the bill is Mercury, who are for me the UK’s number one Queen tribute.”
The event will finish with Last Night of the Proms by Delph Band and a spectacular fireworks finale.
Phil added: “Tickets are going exceptionally well and we are really looking forward to the day.
“We are very grateful to all our supporters and sponsors, especially security company CIA 2000 Ltd who are sponsoring the event this year.”
Tickets cost £55 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children under 14), £24 for a single, or £20 for concessions. Tickets are available from Uppermill Post Office, Delph Post Office, Delph and Dobcross Cricket Club or call the ticket hotline: 07487 402493.
