A SINGLE decker bus brought traffic to a standstill and caused tailbacks after bring stranded at a key Greenfield junction.
The 10.5 m long bus was trying to navigate a steep bend near Greenfield rail station and partially blocked Shaw Hall Bank Road.
A First Bus spokesman said the driver had misjudged the turn and stopped to ensure there was no damage to a nearby wall.
“He contacted a colleague who went out to assist with a safe reversing procedure,” said the spokesman.
“From the time the vehicle initially stopped to when the bus was back in service was approximately 15 minutes.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and we have reminded our driving team of the ideal positioning when making this turn. “
