Fire crews attend moorland fire above Saddleworth

FIRE crews have been called out to a moorland fire this afternoon (March 23) at Deer Hill Reservoir. 

Smoke can be seen across Saddleworth as eight appliances are in attendance at the blaze.

Fire crews from Slaithwaite have advised members of the public to avoid the area at this time.
