AFTER 25 years helping thousands of pupils and teachers up and down the country, a Saddleworth company is still going from strength to strength.
Focus Education, a family-run business based at Talking Point Centre in Scouthead, celebrates its milestone 25th anniversary this year.
Set up in 1993, the education training and resource provider has flourished to support more than 3,500 primary schools and early years organisations in England.
First established as a small school inspection provider for Ofsted by founders Clive and Linda Davies, Focus Education has grown to become a large educational consultancy.
Over the years it has evolved to deliver CPD courses, educational publications, downloads and software, and bespoke education consultancy for leaders, teachers and teaching assistants in primary schools.
Currently, the business is run by Clive and Linda, and their daughter Claire Duggan. Linda’s dad Cliff Parker, 92, spends his mornings binding books at the business.
They came together with staff present and past, friends, associates and customers at their offices to celebrate the landmark anniversary, tucking into a special cake and refreshments.
There will be several other celebrations over the school year to mark the occasion, including a birthday event with customers during an upcoming trade exhibition in Birmingham.
Claire, Operations Director, said: “I am extremely proud of everything that Focus Education has achieved over the past 25 years which is a testament to the hard work of our team, and the strong relationships we have established with customers in the UK and further afield.
“There is no doubt that the education sector has changed immeasurably since we were first established but we have continued to evolve in line with the needs of the schools and teachers we work with.
“We are delighted to be working with some fantastic partners to deliver resources that utilise the most modern platforms around.
“Looking ahead, Focus Education remains committed to ensuring what we offer is at the cutting edge – both from a curriculum perspective, as well as from a technology perspective – as more and more of our customers look to access what they need online and in more innovative and inventive ways.”
