First ever Swing Fling thrills at The Clarence in Greenfield

A SWINGING 40s event brought fun and laughter to a popular Greenfield pub.

The Clarence on Chew Valley Road was filled with vintage outfits and make-up, stalls, entertainment and a host of military vehicles for their first ever Swing Fling.

Singer Katie Mustang entertained with classics, the Backstep Boogie Club got guests on their feet and DJ Rix the Mix completed the line up of fun.

The host of military vehicles were organised by Leanne Thornton, Hayden Schofield and Tony Williams, who chose Help For Heroes as the charity to benefit from the event.

Michelle Robinson, who runs The Clarence with her family, commented: “It was a fab day and we plan on doing more… we have the 1940s bug now!”

The next fundraiser at the pub is an Open Air Mic event on Monday, August 31 from 2-5pm in aid of the Oldham Moutain Rescue Team.
