Saddleworth Chatter: August

by GH

FRED WAS walking along High Street in Uppermill when he met his pal Harry, who had recently got married.

“How do Harry, I haven’t seen you since the wedding. How’s life treating you?”

“Very good,” replied Harry. “It’s a whole new life I’ve got and I’m glad I met you Fred because now I’m wed I have a few things I don’t need and wish to sell if you’re interested.”

“I could be,” said Fred. “What have you got to sell?”

“Well, I’ve got my PC computer, my laptop, my new IPad and my state-of-the-art Sat Nav.”

“Why on earth are you getting shut of all your much-loved toys?” asked Fred.

“Well,” replied Harry a little crestfallen, “I won’t need them any more… my wife knows every thing!”
