NEW: The Tank

Rachel Coates, the church’s new Youth and Families Worker, and volunteers have worked hard to prepare the large space for its official launch and use by people over the age of 11 years.

She said: “It took many months of hard work, clearing, cleaning, painting and replacing to get The Tank in to tip top condition.

“Special thanks go to the Scouts for their diligence and to B and Q Oldham for donating paint brushes.”

The Tank is fully equipped with Wiis, Playstation 2s, laptops, a pool table, a chill out zone and is completed with a number of shark beanbags.

It will be used by the 20th Oldham Scouts Group, the UMC Kingfishers and is open for various youth events, as well as providing safe, after-school, drop-in sessions for the young people of Saddleworth.
