The officers at Uppermill police station, along with teams across Greater Manchester, are once again supporting the KEY 103 Mission Christmas appeal to collect gifts to hand out.

In a letter to residents, they explained: ”Greater Manchester Police is once again supporting the KEY 103 Mission Christmas Appeal.

“Sadly there are still 1 in 3 children living in poverty, with Greater Manchester having the fourth highest levels of child poverty in the country.

“Mission Christmas will not solve the statistics but will be a helping hand that ensures as many children as possible wake up with a present on Christmas day, no matter what their situation.

“Last year the Saddleworth residents made an impressive contribution to this appeal, providing us with over 150 gifts.

“If you would like to join us this year, KEY 103 are asking for new, unwrapped toys for all ages from birth to 18yrs. If you prefer to donate for older children gift sets are also welcomed.”

For cash donations you can text the word KEY to 70808 to donate £5.

If you have toys to donate, you can drop them off at Uppermill Police Station on:
