A male driver was taken to hospital after his car careered off the Greenfield to Holmfirth Road earlier today. (Tuesday, August 29).
The vehicle failed to negotiate a notorious bend as the road descends towards Dovestone Reservoir and ended up in a ditch with its air bag deployed. No other vehicles were involved.
According to police, who attended the scene, together with other emergency services, the man was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital suffering from minor injuries. which weren’t believed to be life threatening.
The A635, known locally as the Isle of Skye road, was closed for a time as the car was winched onto the back of a recovery truck and removed from the accident scene.
Drivers are also being warned to watch out for a proliferation of pheasants on the carriageway closer to Greenfield village.
