ESTHER Morrish has a secret but she’s happy to share it with everyone…
Esther from Oldham is the proud owner of a recently opened business on Uppermill’s thriving High Street.
But My Plum Tree isn’t quite as conspicuously obvious as some shops along the busy main road.
While you don’t need a map and compass to find it, a touch of perseverance might help.
Stick with it though and you will be rewarded by a warm welcome to the intimate craft and hand made jewellery outlet.
My Plum Tree has put down roots on the top floor of the building that houses Uppermill Therapies and The Flower Shop.
And Esther, with a background in retail, is delighted to finally start her new venture.
“I had been making jewellery as a hobby for a number of years and selling it at craft fairs,” she explained.
“So, the logical next step was to find a shop. These premises came up and it was such a fantastic opportunity I couldn’t afford to let it go.”
My Plum Tree officially began trading on July 1 since when Esther has been busy building up stock, creating innovative designs for her range of jewellery and crafts.
Popular items include her Fairy Door surprises for girls and Pirate Treasure Doors for the boys.
“They are a modern, decorative twist on the old style lucky bags,” says Esther, whose husband Melvyn’s own handiwork has created display stands for the products.
My Plum Tree is open on Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm. Check their Facebook page for full details or call 07497 140677.
