New society to bring together Singles and Socials in Saddleworth

A NEW group aiming to create ‘a welcoming and inclusive community for single people’ in Saddleworth is launching in the new year.

Singles and Socials Society of Saddleworth (SSSS) hopes to connect singles, create friendships and celebrate respect.

It is founded by Emma, Elaine, and Phil, who met at a local community event and bonded over a shared frustration with online dating and a desire to create a better way for singles to connect.

The trio is launching SSSS on January 1 with a low-key event to meet the founders, with details available on their website and social media.

All are welcome – not just members – to come along and ask questions, and find out more about Emma, Elaine and Phil and the society.

The group welcomes anyone in and around Saddleworth who is single and aged over 21 who is looking for dating and socialising.

It is ideal for those who want to date single people from the local area, or those who just want to make friends with other single people to do social things.

Phil said: “We want to provide a supportive and enjoyable environment where members can build meaningful connections, forge new friendships, and enjoy enriching social experiences – without the pressure or toxicity of online dating.

“We are not anti dating sites but anti the culture that often prevails with online dating, so we are dedicated to fostering respect, kindness, and mutual support.

“The society is not solely focused on dating. We will prioritise simply having fun and building real-life connections, whether romantic or platonic, through a variety of social activities and events.”

The trio would like to hear single people’s views on the society and also welcome anyone who thinks they can help, including singles with skills in design or social media marketing, businesses who want to sponsor or host an event or activity, and those with single friends or family who might need some assurance before joining.

They aim to have meetings or events on a weekly basis, with members able to arrange meets among themselves.
