TWO planters in Greenfield have received new ‘floral’ additions to commemorate Britain’s entry into World War Two and the end of the conflict six years later.

The award-winning Street Scene group have added poppies and a wreath to the flowers displays on Chew Valley Road and Manchester Road.
Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain confirmed Britain was at war with Germany on September 3, 1939, two days after the German invasion of Poland.
On September 2, 1945, Japan’s signing of the instrument of surrender on board USS Missouri marked the official end of the conflict.
