THE FIRST ever Open Day at the popular Saddleworth Stables proved a huge hit.

Around 150 locals flocked to the Diggle stables, owned by Carol Shaw, to enjoy the pony rides and see the animals, including Daffodil the pig, sheep, hens, ducks, pigeons, rabbits and horses.

A dressage to music demonstration was given by Carol’s niece, Freya Shaw (13), on her horse Millparks Muppet and there was a Show Jumping demonstration Becky Harrison, who liveries her horse, Dolly, at the Stables.
