Q: I like enjoying the Christmas period with family and friends but it can be expensive to pamper myself with treatments and products. What would you suggest to keep the cost down and look my best?
A: Firstly let me say “I love Christmas!” – you’ll find no bah humbug here. It is however a pernicious truth that the time of year we are most financially strapped and stressed out during coincides with the time of year we are expected to look our best at a host of festive gatherings and parties.
The unrelenting demands of the season can mean that pampering, although desired, falls to the bottom of a very long list of things to do. Absolutely everyone wants to look their best over the Christmas period but time and price have a direct impact on how much pampering we feel we can indulge in.
At the Face and Body Shop we are passionate about educating the therapists of the future. Our junior therapists are in house trained alongside their college education to provide beauty treatments to our exacting standards at a fraction of the cost of our regular therapists – so you can still enjoy your favourite treatments and look and feel great at a time when it really matters.
If shopping, cooking, decorating, working, wrapping etc leave your schedule too tight to take time out for salon visits, then you can always treat yourself at a time that suits you with homecare products.
Why not pop in and purchase your favourite pampering essentials so you can get that feel good boost at home.
While full-sized pots of your most coveted products may be consigned for now to your wish list for Santa, we can offer a great range of purse-friendly travel sized creams, exfoliators, masks and cleansers to make sure you are able to dazzle at the office party.
Write your Christmas cards or prep the turkey whilst wearing a pampering treatment mask or do a quick exfoliation before you jump in the shower to brighten the skin.
Looking good doesn’t have to involve a huge investment, something as simple as a lipstick in a new colour can give you a boost and create a new look, or a nail polish in one of the seasons new must-have colours can update your look without making a massive dent in your finances.
I hope you are able to use some of these ideas to stay looking your best as you celebrate with your friends and family this Christmas, and remember January can be a frugal month, so be sure to ask Santa for lots of pampering vouchers for Christmas!
If you’re looking for the perfect pampering present this Christmas, The Face and Body Shop has a whole host of gifts from Clarins, Guinot, Nailtiques and Mavala as well as candles, jewellery and make-up bags to choose from.
