Where do you read yours: Abuko Nursery School

FROM YOUNG to old, people of all ages love picking up a copy of the Saddleworth Independent to read what’s inside.

And when Amy Saggerson took a copy of the popular paper to The Gambia, pupils at the Abuko Nursery School couldn’t wait to get their hands on it either.

Amy runs her own charitable organisation called ‘For The Love of Learning in The Gambia’ which she began almost five years ago and visits every six weeks.

The main aim of the organisation is to fund the education of Gambian children, especially girls, and they have many local sponsors and receive funds from Uppermill Methodist Church for the school.

Amy is pictured here with her mum Janet and some of the sponsored pupils at the school.
