AYLA HEWITT led Saddleworth School to victory in the year eight race at the Oldham Secondary Schools’ Cross-Country Championships at Chadderton Hall Park.
Saddleworth had four runners in the top 10 which also helped them to a team success.
Kate Leddy was third, Bethany Speake fourth and Zahra Mizrah eighth. Sophie Southern was also a creditable 21st.
Saddleworth finished third overall in the secondary schools’ event and the top 15 runners from each age category will now run in the Greater Manchester Championships on February 6.
